Yvette Gonzalez-Nacer

Yvette Gonzalez-Nacer is a Cuban-American quadruple threat, avid songwriter and humanitarian, best known for playing the role of Kiki on the Emmy Award winning Nickelodeon TV series, The Fresh Beat Band.  She just completed a sold-out 95-show tour over 15 weeks, performing in theatres nationwide and due to overwhelming demand, is currently on a fall tour.

Since her first violin lesson at the age of three, young Yvette was immersed in a musically diverse world that established her early on as an artist comfortable in any genre.  Yvette sang and acted professionally from her early teens; even performing for royalty and heads of state with a jazz vocal group she helped form.  A child prodigy, she began high school at the age of 12, and graduated from the University of Miami on an opera scholarship, having just turned 19.  She soon took the stage with the Florida Grand Opera, performed at Carnegie Hall, and was discovered by Engelbert Humperdinck, who took her on a world tour to sing both back up and to share his spotlight in a nightly duet of “How Do You Keep The Music Playing.”

Her work as an actress has been garnering attention as she was recently nominated for an Imagen Award for “Best Young Actress in a Television Series,” & won a Craig Noel Award (SD Critic’s Circle) for Outstanding Female Lead.  She has earned roles from 7th Heaven and Guiding Light to stage productions of West Side Story & Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing.  She headlined as one of the titled stars of Marion J. Caffey’s 3 Mo’ Divas, and played the role of Vanessa in Broadway’s 1st National Tour of In the Heights (2008 Tony Award for Best Musical).  She is currently playing Kiki in the Nickelodeon series The Fresh Beat Band, which is on their 3rd season, having already filmed 60 episodes.  Last year, The Fresh Beat Band, performed at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, rang the Opening Bell at the New York Stock Exchange, and performed with Jason Mraz at New York’s prestigious Carnegie Hall.

Recently, Yvette joined Jason Mraz on his “You Are Loved” Concert, singing a duet as well as playing violin.  In 2012, Yvette released an album entitled “Not Gonna Wait – The Live Sessions,” as well as “The Fresh Beat Band (Music From the Hit TV Show)” and “The Fresh Beat Band, Vol. 2.0 (More Music From the Hit TV Show),” both of which peaked at #1 on Children’s Music on iTunes.

Yvette is an advocate for Global Green, Global Campaign for Education and a Celebrity Champion for Alzheimer’s Association.  With a voice that is lyrical and lushly melodic, boldly self-assured and yet innately human, Yvette Gonzalez-Nacer is poised to become one of the brightest new stars on the artistic horizon.
